In this energy driven world, a source of energy which is pollution free, silent, limitless and renewable is very important. Solar energy and solar power electricity is the form of energy which is which fulfills this criteria. Energy generated by solar panel and solar cells yields the most valuable source in present days. Using sun’s energy was quite common in ancient time, but in modern civilization emitting solar energy and generating solar power electricity to utilize it in many aspects has become very useful concept and process.

Sun, located at the centre of the solar system is the main source of potential energy. Using that energy directly into action is the main objet of solar power generation. Solar electricity is generally created by using Photovoltaic technology. It converts solar energy into solar electricity.

Photovoltaic systems utilize sunlight to power electrical equipment. A PV cell mainly consists of two or more thin layers of semi-conducting material. The materials are mostly silicon. The plates are exposed to the lights and electrical charges are generated. This charge is directly converted into DC. The PV equipment generates solar electricity without emitting s any greenhouse gases, and the operation is virtually silent.

During the day, the electricity generated by the Solar PV system can either be used immediately or can be stored and then used in commercial purpose such as selling it to one of the electricity supply companies. On the other hand, in the evening, when the system is unable to provide the electricity, the power supply can be bought back from the network. Here the main grid itself is acting as a electric energy storage system, and hence the PV system does not require a battery storage. This kind of Grid connect PV systems are generally integrated into buildings providing pollution and noise-free solar power. It can be incorporated into buildings in different ways.

Leisure industry is a substantial market for PV technology. Here the systems use batteries for storage of solar power. When larger amounts of solar electricity are required, they can be combined with a biomass generator or a wind turbine to yield energy in a hybrid power supply system. However, there types of PV Cell available in the market. Monocrystalline Silicon Cells are the most common among them. The main advantage of this kind of cell is high efficiencies that is normally 15%. Multicrystalline Silicon Cells are also widely used. These are cheaper to produce but average efficiency level is 12%. Amorphous Silicon cells are also very useful as they absorb light more effectively than crystalline silicon. However these cells less efficient than crystalline based cells. Although, the low cost makes them suited for many applications, where high efficiency is not required.

The solar electricity system has changed the face of contemporary world in many ways. Using solar energy to power modern day equipments and generating solar electricity through solar panels is an evolutionary process. It is safe, unlimited, energy saving, and cost effective. However, the most important aspect of solar electricity is that it is renewable and eco-friendly. In today’s world where limited resource and pollution are the main concerns, solar energy and solar electricity solve these problems very effectively.

With people becoming more and more concerned about the environment and more aware of the damage certain industries are doing to the environment the need for alternative energies has heightened. One the most popular alternative energies is solar electricity as it is environmentally safe, does not pollute the air or water, does not contribute to acid rain or global warming, does not create smog, and it is very dependable (well as dependable as the sunshine is).

The benefits of it to Australia and to individuals are numerous. By choosing solar electricity at your home you will not only make a difference to the environment but also to your bank balance. Once your solar panels have been installed by an industry professional it is almost free; solar electricity is renewable, meaning it won’t run out- as long as the sun is shining your solar panels can produce electricity; it is completely environmentally safe and does not produce any greenhouse gases; it is very useful in remote areas where access to usual electricity is difficult, and in Australia that is very common; and lastly, Australia has a lot of sun, we may as well take advantage of it.

The only two negatives involved in solar electricity are:

1.

The initial costs can be a lot, but with a government rebate this can be minimized and,

2. Solar electricity relies on sunshine, if the day is overcast or cloudy it will not work as well.

Australia is one of the highest producers of greenhouse gases in the world so the importance of solar electricity, which produces no greenhouse gases, is growing everyday. Unfortunately we have been slow adopting renewable energy sources in an effort to reduce this environmental problem- It has the potential to prevent the release of 500 tonnes of greenhouse gases into the air each year!

The installation of solar farms in country NSW is also able to produce enough electricity every year to power up to 100 homes- which reduces pollution and helps the environment.

Green electricity is a wonderful alternative to conventional electric companies. Green electricity is generated through renewable sources, such as solar energy, thermal energy, geothermal energy and wind power. While it does take some energy to manufacture energy this way, the energy that they generate quickly and significantly surpasses the impacts of manufacturing them.

Green electric can be found in many places. If you are interested, it is possible and very easy to generate your own electrical (or photovoltaic) energy. Harnessing your own photovoltaic energy using solar panels will quickly and easily generate enough energy to completely offset your energy bills, with enough left over to save for a rainy day or to sell back to the energy company.

This saves you money, generates money and decreases your conventional electricity consumption.

If you plan to use green electric, you should also make other cutbacks around your house. These small changes will significantly cut back on your general energy consumption, and can quickly and easily make a big change to the environment. Your energy bill will also decrease immensely.

There are two areas on which you can focus when trying to consume energy more responsibly. EnviroCitizen.org has detailed these for you below !
Awareness for Limiting Use

Limiting your use does not mean that you have to walk around in the dark. You simply have to adjust your energy consumption habits. This means things like cutting back on the use of electrical devices in general, especially those that draw a large amount of energy.

After taking a fast tour of your house you should be able to know where you can begin to cut back. Simply ask yourself a few questions :
What items use electricity in this room ?
What items am I actually using right now ?
If I leave the room what can I turn off ?
What items still need to be on in the rooms when I leave ?

It may take awareness and self-discipline to be as energy efficient as possible, but even the smallest savings can add up!

2 : Wiser Use of Appliances

Home appliances draw the largest amount of electricity in your home. It isn’t always the number of appliances you have that increases your usage and cost, but how you use them. Wiser usage can make a big difference !

Wait for a full load before using your washing machine.
Set your thermostat at the minimum low or high setting; just enough to make the inside temperature comfortable.
Switch off the monitor when you leave your computer; it only takes a second to turn it on.
Unplug any unnecessary appliances while on vacation and turn all necessary ones to the lowest possible setting they can remain at.

Green electric practices are practical, economical and earth-friendly. EnviroCitizens.org has many green electric products to help you achieve lower energy consumption!

In this article I want to talk about two alternative energy sources. One being solar or sunlight and the other being wind. Using a green power energy source can be beneficial in a couple of ways with one being the savings it can have on our planet. If we can do anything to help our planet especially for the future of our children. You can use it year round also. After all, this is our home. Another benefit, especially in this new area of going green and rising prices in just about anything we do or purchase is the amount of energy you can save. Not only will this have an instant savings but in the long run it really is going to have an impact on how much extra money you can save.It is nice to see that our governments are now starting to use this resource. We should have been using it or implementing it years ago. After all the technology was there.

The first method I want to talk about is using our sunlight to reflect into solar panels to generate electricity.

This especially works well in the winter time as the snow helps reflect the light into the panels resulting in higher heat. This electricity is made into DC (direct current)and then transformed into AC or alternating current by means of converters. Using solar you can generate electricity to power anything from your boom box to running your whole house. You can eliminate your whole electric bill. These are very simple to build yourself. You can literally make or put the panels together yourself or buy them whole. Learn to build them yourself and you can save even more. You can pick up great guides on how to do this yourself. Check out at the bottom in my resource box.

The second method I would like to talk about is wind power.

This method of green power works along the same lines of creating the electricity or DC current but with the difference of course with wind instead of sunlight being the energy source. The wind and air turn a set of blades which then turns a turbine creating the current. These two are simple to set up yourself. Again you can pick up a guide and have your own up in very little time and cost to you.

Those are two green power energy sources that you can use to both help the environment and have a huge impact on how much money you can save. Especially in the long run. As you can see using both solar and wind as alternative energy sources can have a huge impact. I hope this article sparks some interest in helping you create some home made energy. Who knows, you may make your electric meter spin backwards and your electric company will be paying you. This does really occur. Not to mention the fun it is. Visit my author section on finding greenpower-energysources and my blog with updated green power information.

With all the progressions in green power scientific knowledge, it is easier than ever to start adapting their home into a green power home. A green generated power home advances renewable resources to impart power, hot water, heat and peace of mind.

There are various methods and means to bring about their green energy home plan. The first is solar power. In a green generated power home an individual can deploy solar hot water panels which heat and store water for use and a person can set up solar panels, which use photovoltaic cells to adapt sunlight into electricity. These systems can be exorbitant if purchasing them and having them installed by a professional, but there are many terrific resources ready willing and able to build a person’s own solar panels and solar hot water systems that can reduce the cost greatly.

If a person is just building their home, a marvelous way to make it a green generated power home is to put into action passive solar design during planning.

This means taking advantage of south facing sides of the house for heating and cooling. By installing lots of highly proficient windows and heat retaining bricks and stone on their south facing areas, an individual is taking luck of passive solar procedures to produce their green power home.

One more addition to the green generated power home would be a windmill. Windmills are used to introduce electricity from the renewable resource wind. Windmills can be installed on rooftops or in yards and provide pollution free electricity. Windmills can be purchased from retailers or there are a wide variety of affordable kits on hand for the motivated do-it-yourselfers to handle the implementation of their own green power home plans.

If an individual has a stream or a creek on their property, a person may also add to the efficiency of their green generated power home with hydroelectric power. This is also a marvelous pollution free option that is painless to care for and operates as long as there is water ready for use.

The ultimate green power home would combine all of these resources. By using wind, water and solar to achieve electricity a person is looking not only at huge savings and possible profits from their power usage, but a person would truly be green as each of these options contributes little to global warming. To further combine passive solar design and solar hot water systems, an individual is reducing their energy needs exponentially and truly living the vision of going green.

A green power home does not demand more maintenance than time-honored homes. Solar technologies exact little to no repairs and wind and water turbines take only regular oiling for peak efficiency. There is no better time to create a person’s green generated power home and start living ones idea in green.

How to remain alive off the power grid and feel the rush of independence being off the power grid dependence can give. Costless energy from the wind, the sun and the water. That sure sounds marvelous, doesn’t it?

To Smart Home Owners Who Are Sick Of Paying More And More For Electricity And Energy. “How Would You Like To UNPLUG Your House From Your Electrical Company, Knowing That You Are ’100% Powered By Nature’ With Renewable Energy?” If a person has ever wished to stop wasting money on their electrical bill, help the global economy and save the Earth, then they have arrived at the right article.

In today’s world almost everyone are very accustom to a ready access of electricity. Sometimes others don’t even think where it’s coming from or don’t even realize how much energy they consume every day. Since it’s only a secondary form of energy, in order to produce it we need our natural resources. However, the most abundant and low-cost energy source which is the fossil fuel creates huge impact to the environment. Among all the form of energy sources fossil fuels are the highest emitters of carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas.

The need for green energy

According to IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report the atmospheric mixing ratio of CO2 has increased worldwide by about 100 ppm (36%) over the last 250 years.

Just imagine if CO2 in the atmosphere continue to increase on the coming years, then maybe it would be too late for us to stop global warming. And with this problem at hand, we cannot continuously depend on fossil fuels for most of our energy consumption. We need sustainable, clean, green energy and it should be given utmost attention nowadays or else our future is at risk.

Although there are various solutions available, there’s the use of renewable energy, biofuels, and other researches on science such as capturing of energy from yeast and genetically engineered bacteria. But the most interesting solution and probably the most helpful to our environment is the use of wastes to generate electricity.

Through this technology, both problems on energy and wastes can be solved. We even don’t need to use our natural resources since it uses wastes to derive clean energy. This is known as the biosphere process or biosphere technology.

Green Energy Solution: Biosphere Technology

Biosphere technology is a waste-to-energy innovation that uses gasification process to convert wastes into clean green energy. The entire process works in Zero Waste Philosophy wherein it converts or recycles all feedstocks back into nature or marketable byproducts without harming our environment. Its process is done in a limited oxygen environment thus does not cause harmful atmospheric emissions. The technology has passed all European and US atmospheric emissions standards including the latest EPA regulations.

The best thing about this technology is that it can efficiently eliminate various wastes ranging from household wastes to industrial wastes by converting it into clean green energy. Probably this is the best solution for the growing problems on waste management at the same time it answers the huge demand on energy worldwide. Just think about it, if it a single biosphere facility can recycle up to 720 tons of garbage and destroy up to 172 tons of non-recyclable garbage per day how great it would be for greening and cleaning our environment. Another valuable thing about the technology, it does not need to exhaust our natural resources just to generate green energy since the solid wastes that fuels its biosphere machines are also renewable.

Green Energy – It’s all around us. We can see it, feel it, touch it and even consume it. Sounds a little bizarre right? Well, it’s quite true but what exactly is it?
Primarily, I’m talking about the sun and the wind – sources of sustainable, clean, natural energy, more commonly known as green energy.

There are also 3 other sources of Green Energy in use today and these are in the form of tidal energy, biofuel and geothermal. However, the more common forms of green energy resources are solar and wind power and a green energy home will almost inevitably use these to help generate and sustain electricity.

Solar energy is very basically the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Solar cells convert sunlight directly into electricity and are used to power almost anything ranging from small calculators and watches, right up to huge satellites which orbit the earth.

All TV and communications satellites are powered by solar energy using solar technology.

Wind energy is simply the conversion of wind energy into electricity. This is achieved by using a wind turbine. Wind Turbines are a great resource of natural energy and are often used in conjunction with solar panels or as an alternative to solar energy. The benefits and uses of Wind energy are such that wind is actually the fastest growing energy source worldwide.

These energy sources are generally natural, renewable and endless sources of energy used to generate thousands of hours worth of electricity and power for numerous uses all across the world. These forms of energy are much cleaner forms of energy since they produce far less pollutions than the traditional methods of generating electricity cause by the burning of fossil fuels.

On a very basic level, the electricity we currently use in our homes is mostly generated at a power station.

This is basically done by using large electromechanical generators which are driven by heat engines fueled by burning fossil fuels such as natural gas or coal. This method pollutes the earth by emitting carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions into the earths atmosphere.

We can all easily achieve a green energy home and make a big difference to the environment. By building and installing Solar Panels and Wind Turbines, you can harness the power of nature and provide your home with an almost limitless supply of renewable and sustainable clean, green energy.

For companies of the environmentally friendly persuasion, it’s tempting to want to shout about those efforts from the rooftops in hopes of attracting positive attention. That can be a great move – as long as it’s done correctly. Green energy PR is a specialty honed by many communication professionals who are well-equipped to help your business make the most of your environmental friendliness initiatives.

Some of those professionals have made a career out of green energy PR, while others have worked for organizations that inadvertently helped them develop the specialty because of in-house environmental friendliness initiatives.

Lots of interesting sustainable energy projects are going on around the world right now. In New York, for example, there’s work being done to reach the goal of having 30 percent of all energy used statewide come from renewable sources.

All over the country, schools are switching to more environmentally friendly bulbs and reworking policies to ensure that lights are turned off when they’re not being used. Schools with the resources to do so are even installing the kind of lights that switch off automatically when motion sensors don’t detect anyone in the room. Green roofing is also becoming more and more popular, especially on new buildings.

The reason it’s important to have a professional involved in your green energy PR is because it’s easy to cross the line from appropriate to too much. Making your organization sound greener than it is is a practice known as “greenwashing,” and people are developing a keener eye for it – especially as so many organizations seek credit for their green initiatives without also seeking the counsel of a green energy PR professional. The public can be quite harsh when it suspects that an entity is taking more credit for environmental friendliness than it deserves. For example – large corporations that make a big deal when they put a green roof on a new building, or when one facility out of a thousand gets an Energy Star rating, can be accused of “greenwashing.” And that’s the danger of promoting such initiatives without the counsel of someone experienced with green energy PR.

That’s not to say that even those businesses don’t deserve credit. Every little bit helps when it comes to conserving natural resources. The point is to illustrate the importance of seeking that credit with the finesse and expertise that a communication professional can provide.

A communication consultant with experience in green energy PR can help you find the right balance – drawing positive attention to your environmental friendliness efforts in a truthful and sustainable manner.

Hosting a website can take a lot of time and resources, but what many users and webmasters don’t understand is that it takes a very large toll on the environment, too. Websites over the years have guzzled thousands of dollars worth of energy in order to keep them running and accessible, and not just on the server end. From the energy it takes to power the servers to the energy it takes to power the end user’s computer, very little about websites can be said to be economically friendly.

If you’re a web designer and you’re looking for a better solution for your website, you’ll be happy to know that green hosting is an alternative hosting solution which allows for a lesser impact on the environment, while performance and stability remain unaffected.

Because our rampant computer use has more than doubled in the past nine years, it is completely understandable that energy consumption would also double.

The simple truth here is that energy consumption when related to websites has not diminished, but has continued to grow, which is presenting a major problem for many people who want to run websites, but at the same time, they’d rather lessen their carbon foot print.

According to a recent research study performed by energy conservationalists, it was discovered that last year alone, the amount of power needed to run all the servers located in just the United States alone was equal to about five nuclear power plants. When the entire world was considered, it was believed that those servers consumed all the power which would be put out by fourteen nuclear power plants.

In a world where more and more people are becoming concerned about the environment and the small number of remaining energy sources, the amount of energy it takes to power websites is becoming a very real problem.

Because the internet is so woven into the very fabric of our society, the only solution in making sure it remains that way is resorting to green hosting.
